Spring & Watercoloring outdoors are back
First outing of the year
Spring 2025 has sprung and we got out to paint for the first time! I missed posting Helter Sketcher the last two weeks due to health issues. But I’m healthy and back in the saddle! So much so that (Wini)Fred and I decided to our new 2025 Zoo pass to the local botanical garden and see what was popping. We had a lot of fun this past Sunday. the mornings and afternoons are very mellow this time of year. We got out with the kids and went to our favorite spot The Japanese Garden section of the Alb. Botanical Garden.
It was so good to get out. Typically my lazy brain wants to stay home, but a good chunk of me knows if we just get out, it will be great once we are there. The weather was wonderful. Super glad we got our first few solid hours of outdoor watercolor painting this year. Everything is blooming and there will new flowering things ever week from here on out. Go get out and paint!
I took the picture above after the first hour or so. Always remember to take a picture of what you are looking at before the light changes. Just a tiny backup measure if the weather or situation changes and you must finish the painting later.
Go grab your tiny paint set and watercolor journal and get out to paint!
